The Deep Ellum Outdoor Market will be hosting the 1st Better Block Project for Deep Ellum, October 30th for Halloween on Elm Street. There will be pop-up shops by Red On Greenville, fresh food from Urban Acres, the Outdoor Market (relocated to the Lemmongrass Parking Lot for this event), things for the kiddos, bike lanes & racks and all the participating Deep Ellum businesses will have extended patios. This will be a two-weeker due to last weeks holiday.

The cat is out of the bag, told work that I’m quitting and leaving for a 2 monthish trip to Europe. Roo and I will tweet: @ajeurotrip2010 and blog our travels at andrewandjenni.com. We leave July 31st for Toronto to visit his family, then leave August 4th for London. Here’s where we’re going.

Vendr: new shopping cart platform that allows you to integrate a shop into your site within minutes.
I was playing with this and I really like it. The store just overlays on top of your website. It’s very clean looking and allows you to integrate it with paypal or other online payment options. They are working on ways to activated it using your own buttons. If you know a little javascript you can do that now, otherwise they provide you with a little red tab. The support reps respond really quickly if you ask them questions too.
