Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros Take-Away Show

Another great Blogotheque Take-Away Show.
This Take-Away show is a bit different than the usual ones. Instead of parading down the street or performing in a secluded location; this show is filmed right after a sold-out concert at the Fillmore in San Francisco outside with fans circling all around them. The energy is amazing.

But the corner of my eye I finally see Alex Ebert, the ‘front man’ slip out of the room. He pushed a piano in the street. My heart began to pounce. Finally. It was the moment that we wanted to create for months. I pressed ‘REC’, then I let the energy take over. What happened next, I could never have imagined. (translated by google, via)

The Walkmen: Leonard Cohen covers via Daytrotter
Also check out the new Walkmen album

“It was -20 degrees the day we did these songs in the Quad Cities. We decided to do Leonard Cohen songs rather than our own…honestly I don’t know why but it sounded fun to all of us. He’s been one of our favorite guys for a long time…I used to play Leonard Cohen songs with my friend Matt…we called ourselves “Tea and Oranges”. So anyhow we did three songs from his great second record Songs From a Room and one from Live Songs. I think we did them justice. “The Old Revolution” and “Passin’ Through” were highlights. And I think the dudes at Daytrotter made us sound great. Later losers!” — Hamilton Leithauser

Lykke Li and El Perro Del Mar

———————————————————————————————————————————
Blogotheque presents a split series: Lykke Li and El Perro Del Mar
Can I marry Blogotheque? (sorry Roo) But seriously, I freaking love these take-away shows.

These Swedish singers pop, true soldiers would have been said. They fought against the wind, the disease and all these voyages, but with final, we are there to look at these little marvels.

We had had the agreement to turn to the Phoenix hotel but that was going to cost us 50 dollars. The place was an oasis in the middle of this collapsing district, where the dirtied chewings-gum mark the pavements like as many ashamed freckles, and where one finds with each corner of street a torn paperboard – trace of the last night. Nate was not really to pay 50 dollars, then after having greeted everyone in the bus of the round and descended from a step lour the shaking steps, like a burning coal hopscotch, we immediately went to 6 blocks of houses, until the centre town. A true shandy, which one was, with trimballer in band, I had evil to remember me their first names, but I knew who they were. One was like manouches, nomads, to carry our house on the back, of the stands, the guitars, of perceived, a tiny piano on which Shroeder, this character in Snoopy, had had to play, of the bells, a trunk filled with odds and ends. I wanted really to speak with them, to make them laugh.

(translated via babelfish, so it may not be perfect)

In the middle of the centre town, it there with the town hall, as a point in the middle of the triangle that form these buildings white and puritan, with their protuberant columns, their steps out of false-marble, and all these intimidating doors as have of them the opera and some museums in which it is not necessary to be delayed. The wind of coast persisting blew, and howled like a child who makes trust it, agitating the keffiyeh tied around the neck of Lykke. It had been said to me that it had caught a cold and that it tried to preserve the throat by holding it with the heat, then I worried. They decided to film the first song on the steps of the town hall, in the shade which its columns project, where it was to make 5 degrees less. One hears the wind groan behind their voices.
