Polaroid PoGo Instant Mobile Printer

———————————————————————————————————————————
Also using the ZINK printer technology, Polaroid PoGo Instant Mobile Printer can connect to mobile phones and digital cameras
You can see if your phone is compatible by going here.(no the iPhone is not, silly enough) The ZINK (which stands for ZERO ink) technology is really cool. There is no printer ink. The patented ZINK Paper is an advanced composite material with embedded yellow, magenta and cyan dye crystals, activated with 200 million heat pulses, in 30 seconds, in a single pass. The result is 2 x 3-inch borderless color images in under a minute. Prints dry-to-touch, water-resistant, tear-proof, smudge-proof Peel-off, sticky-backed Automatic image quality optimization. This is on my list of things I want.. As soon as I replace my camera that I accidentally left in Mexico.

Gmail now has video chat

———————————————————————————————————————————
Gmail now has video chat!
You can now chat by installing THIS PLUG-IN.
Mashable has tried this out
, and these are their reports:

The plugin works in all major browsers (I’ve tried it in the latest version of Firefox) and installs on all of them automatically. After you’ve installed it, start a chat with someone and enable the new functionality from the Options menu at the bottom of the chat window. If you don’t have it yet, you’ll get it soon; Google is gradually rolling out the new feature to all users starting today.

Google also released an instructional video:

iPhone and iPod Emergency Charger

———————————————————————————————————————————
I had blogged about the Kensington iPhone battery pack ($50), but this iPhone and iPod Emergency Charger is MUCH cheaper ($10)
This compact, lightweight emergency charger with retractable cable uses “AA” batteries to power the Apple iPhone and iPod anytime, anywhere.

Some notes the website mentions:
• This Emergency Charger is just for emergency use only, cannot replace your A/C power charger to make your iPhone or iPod 100% charged.
• Please use brand new Alkaline Batteries for the charger

retro technology

———————————————————————————————————————————
Urban Outfitters has come out with a slew of remade oldschool technology
Old school technology with a touch of modernism, so they work. You can purchase old school phones, radios, record players, typewriters, cameras and even black and white film to go into those cameras (with cool hipster pics of course)! Urban sure does know their market.

They contacted Olivetti to remake their manual typewriters personally. Olivetti has some great advertising back in the day.

Flash for the iPhone

———————————————————————————————————————————
Flash for the iPhone
I hope hope hope Apple says Yes.

Flash is coming to the iPhone. However, Betlem says that “Apple calls the shots as to when it’ll be available.” Brynildsen got the confirmation at an Adobe Town Hall meeting session. He reports:

Upon a direct question from the audience, Paul Betlem for the first time publicly confirmed that Adobe is actively developing a Flash Player for Apple’s popular phone. He said (not direct quote) ‘My team is working on Flash on the iPhone, but it’s a closed platform.’ He noted that Apple makes all the decisions, so in other words, the ball is in Apple’s yard at this time. If Apple says yes, Adobe will have the player available in a very short time.

In mid-June, Adobe’s CEO said that company already has Flash running on an iPhone emulator (presumably the same emulator included with Apple’s iPhone SDK).

Google audio search for videos

———————————————————————————————————————————
Google is now offering an audio search for videos: Gaudi
This feature just got added to Google labs and is called Gaudi. Indexing the audio for videos will provide more relevant searches, rather than relying on the description and tags, which is limiting. And more importantly for Google, better determine what ads to show.

Right now it just allows you to search political videos. According to C|NET, “The site’s search box has instructions: “Search what the politicians are saying”. The search results are presented next to a YouTube video player, and clicking each result sets the player to show the part of the video where the words were spoken. It doesn’t just show speeches–a search for “bridge to nowhere” also returned the “Real Mavericks” ad from the John McCain-Sarah Palin campaign.”
