Sucker Punch trailer

Sucker Punch, written and directed by Zack Snyder (300, Watchmen)
This looks like the perfect bad-ass girl cheesy action movie. Starring Emily Browning, Vanessa Hudgens, Abbie Cornish, Jamie Chung, Jena Malone, Carla Gugino, Jon Hamm, Oscar Isaac and Scott Glenn. Opens March 25, 2011.

Banksy’s opening for The Simpsons

Banksy storyboarded and directed the opening sequence to The Simpsons tonight.
**UPDATE: Apparently FOX had all traces of the Banksy Simpsons intro removed from YouTube. But someone was smart enough to take screenshots before it went down! And this Argentinian website still has video that works.**

**UPDATE #2: Al Jean, an executive producer of “The Simpsons,” explains the stunt to The New York Times ArtsBeat.**

First Interview with Bill Waterson since 1989

It’s not a long interview, but it’s nice to hear from an old friend every once in awhile.

It’s always better to leave the party early. If I had rolled along with the strip’s popularity and repeated myself for another five, 10 or 20 years, the people now “grieving” for “Calvin and Hobbes” would be wishing me dead and cursing newspapers for running tedious, ancient strips like mine instead of acquiring fresher, livelier talent. And I’d be agreeing with them.

I think some of the reason “Calvin and Hobbes” still finds an audience today is because I chose not to run the wheels off it.

I’ve never regretted stopping when I did. (via)

How crayons are made

You 80′s kids might remember this from Sesame Street.

Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World extended trailer

Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World starring Michael Cera, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Kieran Culkin,
Chris Evans and Anna Kendrick.

Yes, Michael Cera is playing the same type of character again, but this actually looks kinda fun and silly. I really want to see Jason Schwartzman’s character. The movie comes out August 13th.

Indie Game: The Movie

Indie Game: The Movie is a documentary about video games and is also
another Kickstarter project that I decided to back.

They are releasing teasers of the movie, first being Edmund McMillen discussing his childhood and how he uses his experiences to create his games. It’s shot beautifully and Edmund has a pretty neat story. You can back the movie on Kickstarter here.

Indie Game: The Movie is a feature documentary about video games, their creators and the craft. It examines independent game developers as a way to understand the medium and the theory behind video games. Throughout, the film focuses on the human side of the creative process, and the connections between game and game-maker.

Indie Game: The Movie will be released Spring 2011.
