Kevin Dart’s “A Kiss From Tokyo”
The original (fake) 1964 theatrical trailer for Yuki’s first movie, A Kiss From Tokyo.
I wrote about Kevin Dart awhile ago here. This looks very kick ass, I just pre-ordered the book.

email ‘n walk is an app for the iphone
It lets you use the camera feature as you email so you can see where you are going as you stare at the ground not looking where you are going.

The company claims no responsibility for ” your stupidity, so please don’t go walking into traffic, off of cliffs, or into the middle of gunfights while emailing”.
Gotta love a company with humor.
Check it out in the app store here for .99 cents

Tom Robbins :: B is for Beer
Tom Robbins is one of my favorite authors, while I’m a little sad he hasn’t put out another fiction novel, this book looks really cute.

A Children’s Book About Beer?
Yes, believe it or not–but B Is for Beer is also a book for adults, and bear in mind that it’s the work of maverick bestselling novelist Tom Robbins, internationally known for his ability to both seriously illuminate and comically entertain.
Once upon a time (right about now) there was a planet (how about this one?) whose inhabitants consumed thirty-six billion gallons of beer each year (it’s a fact, you can Google it). Among those affected, each in his or her own way, by all the bubbles, burps, and foam, was a smart, wide-eyed, adventurous kindergartner named Gracie; her distracted mommy; her insensitive dad; her non-conformist uncle; and a magical, butt-kicking intruder from a world within our world.
Populated by the aforementioned characters–and as charming as it may be subversive–B Is for Beer involves readers, young and old, in a surprising, far-reaching investigation into the limits of reality, the transformative powers of children, and, of course, the ultimate meaning of a tall, cold brewski.

Steve Lambert does art based on advertising.
He runs the Anti-Advertising Agency. You may have seen “Light Criticism” where they covered New York Subway tv ads with their own message:
Lambert currently has his first solo show in LA, called “Everything You Want, Right Now!“. I really like how he incorporated his work into the gallery space itself. I really like when galleries/artists do that, its an installation in itself.

Whatever Works :: A new Woody Allen flick, starring Larry David.
I’m very excited to see this combo together. Both are so very New York, but Larry David will add some cahunes to the “Woody Allen” type character. Also starring: Ed Begley Jr., Patricia Clarkson, Conleth Hill, Michael McKean, Evan Rachel Wood.
An eccentric New Yorker played by Larry David abandons his upper class life to lead a more bohemian existence. He meets a young girl from the south and her family and no two people seem to get along in the entanglements that follow. This is a comedy also starring Ed Begley Jr., Patricia Clarkson, Conleth Hill, Michael McKean, Evan Rachel Wood, and a number of other amusing types.

Quimby The Mouse by illustrator Chris Ware
The song in this video is “Eugene” by Andrew Bird. Animation by John Kuramoto.
Quimby The Mouse from This American Life on Vimeo.
A video put together by Chris Ware for our spring 2009 event “This American Life — Live!” — in which Ira Glass hosts an actual episode of the radio program, performed onstage by some of our favorite contributors. Dan Savage, Starlee Kine, and Mike Birbiglia told stories; David Rakoff and Dave Hill conducted a ‘special investigation. Plus, additional visuals by Arthur Jones, and a very special appearance by Joss Whedon, creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer!
