Richard Barnes : Murmur

———————————————————————————————————————————
Richard Barnes captures what I’ve always wanted to, large flocks of birds in flight.
Downtown, there is always HUGE flocks flying all around making these great waves, pushing and pulling across the sky. I wish I could just sit and watch that all day (without getting pooped on). Barnes captures this in his series called Murmur.

Are you sure some of these aren’t pictures of bats? I think flocks of birds tend to all move as one coodinated group, so you get more of a “glob” formation, while bats are more “follow-the-leader” so that the bats follow along a trajectory that results in the long, curled formation.
