Ant architecture

———————————————————————————————————————————
Scientists poured 10 tons of cement into a large colony of ants to
dissect how it was structured.

I hate ants due to the great ant invasion of the summer 2008 in my apartment.
But I have to admit, this is really dang interesting.
Some fun facts about this colony:
-They had a system of ventilation, ducts on top of the ground blew out carbon dioxide
and brought in fresh air.

-They had little pods specifically made to contain garbage.

-This structure covers 538 square feet, and goes down into the earth 26 feet

-The colony moved 40 tons of soil to build the structure

-The size equivalent in human terms is building The Great Wall of China
